Lifehacker.com says that missing a credit card payment could hit your wallet a little harder in 2019. Starting January 1, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is increasing permissible maximums for late fees by $1. That means violates will have to pay $28 for the first time they are late. You will also have to now pay up $39 for subsequent violations.
